XBERENAME FOR GNU/LINUX (UNIX)

If you run homebrew software on your Microsoft Xbox console, you might have noticed that some shells (such as EvolutionX) are able to automatically construct menus based on what software you have on your hard disk. However, sometimes you might want to change the built-in titles (for example change "dvdx2" to "DVD Player"). While some Windows-based Xbox utilities are able to change those titles, I could not find such a program for GNU/Linux. That's why I decided to spend couple of minutes to write xberename.

Using xberename is very simple:

If you want to check the current title of a Xbox
program, just specify its default.xbe file:
~$ xberename default.xbe
si v1.3 ntsc
(in this example the program is named "si v1.3 ntsc")
If you want to change the title, just enter the
title you want to the end of the default.xbe file:
~$ xberename default.xbe Space Invaders

(in this example the title is changed to "Space Invaders")

As always, use --help for help and --version to check the version.

If you notice any bugs or have any suggestions how to improve this tiny utility, don't hesitate to contact me.
