The rec.games.video.arcade.* newsgroups
are probably the best resources on the planet if you're looking for arcade game discussion.
Given that, one might wonder what games are most talked about in those newsgroups.
Well, here's your chance to find out yourself!
By compiling a huge list of arcade game names and using newsgroup search engines it is possible to find the occurrances of game names in r.g.v.a.* newsgroups. The search procedure has to be fairly complex in order to eliminate the effects of various writing styles, minor spelling errors, abbreviations etc. Keep in mind that this list is compiled just for fun, and is certainly not 100% accurate - but does give some idea about what games are popular subjects and which are not. If you want to know more about how the results are compiled or are wondering why some results are what they are, or just want to talk about the results, don't hesitate to post a message to the message board, or even better, write about it to rec.games.video.arcade -newsgroups :) |  |
